Are you a Corporate Misfit?

The working world is abnormal - it's OK not to fit in...

So you took the quiz and discovered you’re a Corporate Misfit…

(No? Take the quiz here, we’ll wait…)

Here’s what you probably didn’t realize: you’re part of a much bigger problem.

Millions of people like you are sitting in corporate jobs right now, feeling exactly what you feel. The difference is, most of them don’t know why.

They think it’s them. They think they need to try harder, fit in better, play the game more skillfully. Conform more.

But you know better now. You know it’s the system that’s broken, not you.

We’re the ones who see patterns others miss, who question systems everyone else accepts, who feel like we’re performing a role rather than being ourselves.

Understanding your misfit type is just the beginning.

The real question is: what are you going to do about it?

So, what can you do?

3 Routes Forward For The Corporate Misfit

STAY PUT

Sometimes, the best option is to stay with your current role!

This can be for a number of factors, but mostly because there is a reality to earning money – mortgages, student debt, and current lifestyle expectations all come at a cost!

If you are going to stay put, then it’s essential to focus in on your survival strategy.

I call this “Being The Compromise”.

JUMP

When staying with the current role isn’t an option, the next thing to consider is jumping to a new role.

But make no mistake, this places you at very great risk of going from frying pan to fire.

The reason is that a jump, done wrong, fails to address the fact that you’re a Corporate Misfit.

So the aim is to make a great JUMP decision for your long-term well-being.

GO IT ALONE

And so we come to the dream/fantasy of every Corporate Misfit: “If I’m going to have to work… I might as well do it for myself!”

And it is a potentially amazing path to walk, for sure. But if JUMPing was risky, GOING IT ALONE takes it to a whole other level.

The trick here is to turn your dream/fantasy into a concrete plan, which holds you accountable for doing it right. The first step in that process is to identify, and accept, what it is you’re really doing.

(for example, an ARTISTE who decides to make a living from their art immediately must become a sales and marketing expert)

You’re not alone!

The system doesn’t like you, and it’s not getting better.

You’ve spent years thinking something was wrong with you, when the real issue is that you’re trying to fit into a world that was never designed for people like us.

The corporate world benefits from non-conformity but crushes it whenever it shows up.

So here’s your choice: keep pretending it’ll get better, or do something about it.

After 20 years in corporate, I’ve spent 15 years helping misfits stop playing by rules that were never meant for them.

If you’re ready to stop compromising on who you are, let’s talk.
